How we help you

At Chiropractie Elst & Groesbeek we use a range of techniques to address your complaint as effectively as possible. Effective treatment starts at the very first consultation.

The initial consultation

When you come to us for treatment, we always start with an initial consultation. We discuss your complaints, your health, lifestyle and other relevant factors to build a complete picture of your situation. This is followed by a physical examination involving neurological, orthopaedic and chiropractic tests. Based on the results we make a diagnosis and explain whether and how we can help you. If we can help, we draw up a treatment plan and discuss the options with you. If we are unable to treat the complaint, we refer you to another therapist or specialist.

Our methods

Chiropractic care is suitable for everyone, across a wide spectrum of complaints. Using manipulation techniques, spinal blockages are relieved by applying pressure to the vertebrae. We use our hands or instruments to do this. We work with the following instruments, treatments and methods:

Chiropractic manipulation

Chiropractic manipulation

A manipulation is a procedure in which chiropractors use their hands to apply a controlled, quick pressure to a joint in the spine to relieve blockages.

Impulser

Impulser

This instrument uses impulses and vibrations to improve vertebral movement and stretches small ligaments and muscles around the spine.

Dry needling

Dry needling

With tiny needles we treat trigger points (muscle knots). This treatment is ideal for persistent, painful muscles and works very effectively against headaches and tennis elbow.

Kinesiotaping

Kinesiotaping

Elastic kinesiotape provides support through the skin to weakened muscles, allowing the underlying muscles to rest and recover.

Cupping / Skinrolling

Cupping / Skinrolling

These techniques restore movement between the skin and the underlying connective tissue layer. Adhesions between these two layers can cause tension and pain.

IASTM / Graston

IASTM / Graston

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation uses instruments to treat muscles and connective tissue in a targeted way.

Safe and pain-free

Contrary to what many people believe, joint manipulation is not painful. During treatment you may hear a cracking sound — this is caused by a gas bubble forming in the joint, and does not come from your bones. You may feel some muscle stiffness or fatigue after the first treatment — this is a sign your body is recovering. Chiropractic care is recognised as one of the safest forms of healthcare.
